Ramadan is when many Muslims give their zakat, and these six charities run Ramadan, Qurban or zakat programs. Pick one, give in about a minute, and 100% of your donation goes to them.

Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam. It's a yearly obligatory gift, usually worked out as 2.5% of the savings and assets you've held for a full lunar year, once they pass a minimum amount called the nisab. It goes to people in need, from families living in poverty to people weighed down by debt.
Many Muslims pay their zakat during Ramadan, and give Zakat al-Fitr, a smaller amount per person, before the Eid al-Fitr prayer. The Islamic calendar is lunar, so Ramadan starts about 11 days earlier each year. Giving on top of zakat, known as sadaqah, can happen any time. For groups doing community work all year, see our guide to Islamic charities in Australia.
Not every charity runs a zakat fund, and scholars differ on some of the details. If you want your gift counted as zakat, ask the charity how it handles zakat money, or speak with your local imam. Giving to a crisis appeal instead? Our guide to the best charity to donate to Gaza is a good next stop.

Want a different charity? Search all 60,000+ charities. How we picked these six: from Tap4Change's charity data, we took charities that name a Ramadan, Qurban, Eid or zakat program in their details, rated 2 or 3 stars with a complete profile, and ranked them by their most recent annual donations. Our data doesn't show whether each charity's funds follow zakat rules, so check with the charity if that matters to you.
Some donations come with a thank you perk from a partner brand, like a voucher or a free product. It's a small thanks for showing up, never the reason to give. Offers change often, so check what's on when you donate.

Giving follows the Islamic calendar. These are the moments charities get busiest, and the charities above already show up for them.
Food packs help families in need break their fast each evening of the month.
Charity Australia International runs Ramadan Food PacksEid appeals help families who are doing it tough celebrate too.
Muslim Global Aid runs an Eid AppealQurban turns one sacrifice into meals shared with families in need.
Australian Relief Organisation runs a Qurban meat campaignZakat collected locally can help families in your own community.
The Indonesian Muslim Community of Victoria runs Bazis, its zakat programYour donation pays for food packs, Qurban meat, emergency relief and support for families and orphans, plus the people and partners who deliver it. Giving money rather than goods lets each charity put it where the need is greatest, which matters when so many people give in the same few weeks.
Programs listed come from each charity's details in Tap4Change's charity data. For how fees, ACNC registration and tax receipts work, see the Tap4Change FAQs, the ACNC Charity Register and the ATO's gifts and donations guide.
Work out how much zakat you owe, pick a charity, and pay online. On Tap4Change that takes about a minute: open a charity's profile from the list above, tap donate and enter your amount.
If you'd like your gift treated as zakat, check how the charity handles zakat funds first. Some keep zakat separate from general donations. Your receipt is saved in your profile, which makes it easy to keep track of what you've given.
The usual rate is 2.5% of your eligible savings and assets, once they've stayed above the nisab for a full lunar year. The nisab is linked to the value of gold or silver, so it changes over time.
Scholars differ on details like which assets count, so many people use a zakat calculator from a trusted Islamic organisation or ask their local imam. Tap4Change can't work out your zakat for you.
Our charity data shows the Indonesian Muslim Community of Victoria runs a zakat program. The other charities run Ramadan, Qurban or Eid programs, but our data doesn't say whether they keep a zakat fund.
If it matters to you, contact the charity before you give and ask how it uses zakat money. That's the simplest way to know your gift is counted the way you intend.
Yes, if the charity you choose is eligible. Tax deductibility is shown at the top of each charity's page on Tap4Change. Donations to a charity endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR), and covered by Item 1 of the table in section 30-15 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997, are tax deductible.
Four of the six charities on this page are marked as tax deductible in our charity data. Indonesian Muslim Community of Victoria and Parramatta Islamic Cultural Association aren't, so don't count on a deduction for a gift to them. Each card shows a chip for this. You can download your receipt from your profile to claim it at tax time.
A thank you perk is a small gesture from a brand that partners with Tap4Change, such as a voucher or a free product, offered with some donations. Your donation still goes 100% to the charity. The perk comes from the brand, and offers rotate, so what's available depends on when you give.
If you can't donate right now, reach out to the Tap4Change team at support@tap4change.org. Sharing a charity's page is a great way to help too.
